CO's Report:
Cresson American Legion has offered us office space to hold our meetings there. Chapter officers will meet with them to get more details, but looking for feedback on it. Can still hold meetings in other areas. Discussed options.
Chapter website needs updated to reflect the recent bylaw changes in how applications are processed, as now they are handled by the chapter secretary. Patch agreements still need handed in with applications, however patch money will not be accepted until their membership has been approved.
Treasurer's Report: $27753.78 is current balance. There’s a few bills to be paid yet, including the gun ticket production costs. Please be patient with ordering/receiving membership patches, as there’s a process to it. Tinman and Big Rig motioned to accept treasurer’s report, approved.
XO's Report: no report.
SAA's Report: no report.
Secretary's Report:
Explained importance of checking 201 file regularly for accuracy. If something needs added or changed, please see the chapter secretary or another officer. Reminder to all members to sign in to events and meetings.
Public Relation's Report:
Chapter has 3 FB pages, each one has a specific purpose. Be careful of what you put out on each page. One is just for chapter members. Be aware, we now have a chapter social media policy.
If you go to rides/events, please get and send photos to Riz. Can also send the pictures to our chapter website.

Chapter Ride Committee Report
- Awesome job again to all who helped with our ride.
- Need to start looking at organizing next year’s ride. Will be on 24 Aug 2019. Looking to hold first committee meeting in January. Need more people to help out on committee. Suggestions are also welcome. All types of membership are welcome to join the committee.
- Most changes are updated. A few small ones are waiting to be approved by NBOD.
New Business
- Was able to reserve order the special We the People 1911 sig pistol from the manufacturer. Already voted to purchase the pistol at a previous meeting. Cost of pistol is $1600. Discussed options for deciding on # of tickets and cost of each. Suggestion to draw ticket on Valentine’s Day. Discussed needing time to sell the tickets (3 months or more), advertising it, tracking who sold what tickets, etc. Motion by Tinman and Andrew Boyles to sell the ticket at $10 each, 500 total tickets, motion carried.
- Wink informed us of a Vietnam veteran in need of a bridge repair caused by flooding damage in order to gain access to his house. Veteran also has mobility issues. Estimated repair cost is $3700 and will be done by Rising Earth LLC. VA is funding $1600, $500 from Edmundson Foundation. Still needs $1600 to cover costs. Will also install culverts to divert water from causing further damage and other associated repairs will be done. So far, area legions and VFW’s have not shown interest in helping. Veteran’s DD-214 is on file and has been vetted. Motion by Andrew Boyles and Tinman to help this veteran in the amount of $1600, motion carried unanimously. Discussed getting some publicity for the check presentation as well.
- Discussed sending out thank you letters for ride donations. 19 businesses on shirt, rest were baskets and other items. Will send out Certificate of Appreciation. Riz needs contacts for anyone who donated items or money. Need to start a list for who gave which donations. Also needs tracked by the treasurer for accounting purposes, with monetary values also.
- Discussed purchasing a chapter trailer for rides, events, etc. Prohibited from using donated money for purchase, would have to fundraise for it. Various options and scenarios discussed at length, such as renting the trailer out to members and using the money for its maintenance or our mission. Would need to vote on its use every time with a contract written. Lengthy discussion on options. Do we want to pursue it and get more information? Decision will be investigated further.
- Discussed Christmas party. Will be held 8 December at the Cresson Legion, subject to change. Will have a meeting prior to party. Discussed food options. Suggestion to bring covered dishes and will provide main dish. Tinman and Joe Foster motioned for pulled pork, approved.
- Vietnam Veterans of America have a furniture collection program. Items are stored until a homeless veteran needs it. Request by Big Rig to have a few veterans from the chapter to help assist the program, so that it doesn’t get shut down due to lack of help. More info to follow.
